Pelekhata project is a brand of functional home goods rooted in the study and love of traditional culture and folk art. The expedition finds of the old khata documenting project have been carefully collected in villages over the years, and now they are reborn into unique and functional physical objects. The diversity of houses in Ukraine and the variety of their decorations are a great source of inspiration, but at the same time, this cultural layer is disappearing. We strive to ensure that the unique images of folk art we documented during our expeditions can be brought to life in new items and live on in your homes.
Block printing on natural fabrics, wood carving, working with clay, and hand-twisting candles — all these ancient handmade techniques make each item unique, with limited quantities bringing them closer to works of art. We lean towards traditional manufacturing practices because we want to preserve cultural continuity and let these crafts live in the modern world.
