SET OF POSTCARDS “AS LONG AS PEOPLE LIVE THERE, A HOUSE IS LIVING, TOO”

550,00

A set of 20 postcards featuring photographs of village houses, sacred objects, and their ornamentation.

Polissia’s carved shutters and Podillia’s relief flowerpots, Slobozhanshchyna’s hearts on gates and Bessarabia’s lions on gables, interiors from the Dnipro region and Pokuttia. Houses standing alone or in orchards, on hills or in valleys, under starry skies, rain clouds, snow, or in blossoms. Some have just emerged from a snowstorm, while over others the moon has only just risen. Beside them is the constant reminder of the sacred: Bukovyna’s small chapels and the Carpathians’ roadside crosses. All bear witness to the builders’ inventive approach to their craft and to life as a whole. All of them tell us something about ourselves. This is the second edition of the old khata project postcard set. Here you will find an updated selection of photographs from various regions of Ukraine, taken during our 2020–2025 field expeditions.
